A stunning seaside holiday house for 12
Turn off the road and head down lush lanes towards Rhoscolyn until you reach a weather-boarded seaside holiday house for 12 of postcard perfection. You only have a hop and a skip between you and the ocean – a ten-minute stomp and you are at sandy Borthwen bay.
Find a large, sociable, first-floor open plan kitchen (you can stock up with all sorts of delights in the farm shop at Bodior) dining and sitting room. There’s plenty of comfortable furniture, piles of books and DVDs, a swanky TV and an excellent Sonos sound system. Two large bedrooms on this floor – one with a European vastly sized bed finely dressed and the other with glorious watery views. Between both is a smart bathroom. The play area sitting room is a hub of delight for little ones, or the older folk too!
On the ground floor, more dreamy bedrooms await. Three have patio doors opening onto the private terrace overlooking the garden. The main bedroom has a fairy-tale four-poster bed, squishy sofas and TV. The calming chalky washed colours and space will enchant you.
Children will adore this place – there is a playroom dedicated to fun. In the summer the large doors swing open to create light-filled heaven for little ones.
The bunk room is a delight and TV and games can capture children on rainy days.
You can play tennis in your own court (shared with Cil Y Gwynt next door), hop in the hot tub, play ping pong or climb the walls (literally). Or simply start wonderful coastal walks from the door. Get the buckets and spades and head down to swim, fish or sunbathe.
To say the pub is a stroll away from your holiday house is an understatement - the chef may just get a night off with tantalising menus at The White Eagle across the hedgerow.
As the light fades with easy music and lobster on the BBQ – ‘chilled’ is the word. At the end of the day, soak up the night skies and drift to the pretty bedrooms in soothing tones; fling open the windows to make the most of the breezes and dream of seaside escapes. Honestly, this is the place to be!
