Cabin with Dutch Tub with views over Eryri
Caban Marta is hidden in what was once a farmhouse vegetable garden of Brithdir Mawr in gently rolling, wooded
countryside. Quiet twisting lanes banked by high hedgerows lead to the peace of this place where guests
can come back to themselves, regenerate, relax and reconnect with nature. This is a place to unwind,
surrounded by birds, bees and trees and enveloped in a warm Welsh welcome. It feels remote and
undiscovered but it’s perfectly positioned for beaches or mountains - Ynys Mon (Anglesey) is only 10
minutes away over the Brittania Bridge and Eryri (Snowdonia), which dominates the views from the
cabin, is 10 minutes away to the south.
Brithdir Mawr was the original farmhouse on what is now a small, eco-boutique glamping retreat, Cae Lal.
The ethos is peace and quiet, wellness and regeneration and the owners, who live next door, have
created a space for guests and nature to thrive side by side. Native trees have been planted, marshland
preserved, and meadows cultivated. The marshy areas attract frogs, wetland birds such as snipes and
heron; dragonflies and butterflies are plentiful; the woodlands are home to various woodland birds such
as barn owls, finches and nuthatches. There’s a badger set here, and you might even spot a stoat or
brown harea. Holistic therapies are available and Caban Marta guests are welcome to wander the paths
and use the facilities.
Caban Marta is a compact chalet-chic cabin and has everything you need to be self-sufficient. The
kitchenette includes three gas hobs, a fridge/freezer, and a sink with hot and cold water. It also includes
a breakfast bar/workspace, which looks out into the garden and the chicken coop. A breathtaking view of
Y Carneddau, a mountain range within Snowdonia National Park are to be enjoyed from the cabin. It has
a comfortable double bed and bedside lights that incudes USB charging points. There are plenty of
electrical sockets included too.
The cabin has a balcony with seating area and a quaint outside patio to enjoy some alfresco dining. The
garden is private and for your use only and has a firepit area and of course, the quirky hot tub! The rural
surroundings makes it the perfect place to soak tired bones after a day on the mountains, while listening
to the blackbirds in the hedgerows sing out another day.
Also, just across the farm track is Brithdir Mawr, which sleeps 6 and can be booked along with Caban
Marta for extended family members.
